The library was always a soothing place for him to be when he was younger. The silence was relaxing, and the students that bullied him never came willingly into it unless for a project, so he was mostly left alone.

Years later and it was still a safe haven, even if it was for more than just him. Younger students, older students, students dedicated to their works... This year, as a prefect, Ulrich had taken it upon himself to care for the former. He'd accidentally formed something of a study group of first and second years.

For the first time, Ulrich didn't feel awkward or upset at having so many eyes trained on him. It came naturally, helping them along and giving them advice and help. "Easy Wesley." he said to a frustrated first year. Poor kid looked like he was about to cry. "Take a deep breath and calm down. Your spells can be affected by your mood and how much power you put into them."

He waited until Wesley was breathing steadier before gesturing to the feather in front of him. "Try again. Remember, Wing-gar-dium Levi-o-sa. Make the 'gar' nice and long." Wesley looked at the feather of a barn owl in determination and cast the spell. The feather rose into the air, shaky but passable, and Ulrich smiled at the proud student. "Nicely done. Now work on your Potions essay and I'll be by in a bit to look it over."

Wesley nodded, happy he finally achieved his goal, and Ulrich stepped back to look over his kids. The thought made him pause, but he soon had to hide a warm smile. That's right; these were his kids, and he'd help them as much as he could without doing the work for them.

Yoko had been fond of the library throughout her life as well. As a kid, before coming to Hogwarts, reading wasn't something that she had much time to do. In fact, she was one of the few out of her family that actually could read. As a first-year, she was mesmerized by the library, and the librarians often joked that she would run out of books.. She never did, though, by virtue of just how massive the collection of novels, spellbooks, textbooks, biographies, and everything imaginable was that filled the shelves.

Now that she was back at the school, and had a pretty hefty chunk of break time once classes got out, she was back at the books. It was nice to be quiet, still, and surrounded by youthfully happy students. She really wasn't that much older than the eldest students, but she felt as if there was so much more of a gap between her and them. She'd lost whatever was keeping her young between graduation and now, and wanted nothing more than to get it back. The teacher needed to be taught something by her students.

Newly checked out book in hand, Yoko was about to leave the library, but heard some sort of study group happening. She cocked an ear to listen in, and recognized the voice of one of her students. Curious, she turned back around, and watched from behind a library shelf as Ulrich instructed a group of younger students. She smiled and approached his "class", and sat in the back. Of course, Yoko already knew her wingardium leviosa's- if she didn't, then she really wouldn't be much of a professor! Rather, she found the tutoring session endearing, and was curious of the boy's teaching style.

House points always seemed to be awarded to singular instances, like one act of bravery or selflessness. But when she saw students helping others over and over, giving their time, these really seemed like acts that deserved more recognition.

Ulrich was kneeling on the ground next to his bag, rooting through it for his own homework. He needed to study desperately for his O.W.L.s . He's been putting it off to help others study, Odd included. That would be hilarious to explain to his parents; why Odd passed but Ulrich failed.

He chuckled a bit at the mental image and pulled out his text book for Transfiguration. While it wasn't his worst subject, it certainly needed more of his attention than Charms, his best subject. A swath of bright red made him glance up absent-mindedly, only to realize an actual teacher, Professor Littner, was sitting there watching the group.

Ulrich stood up to go to her when one of the first years cried out, and their desk was suddenly alight with fire. The prefect acted purely on instinct and pulled the child away from the desk while pointing his wand at the flames. "Aguamenti!" He'd practiced the spell enough times for it to come easily now, and the water quickly doused the fire.

As soon as it was out, he rounded on the first year with wide eyes. "Are you hurt?" Even as the boy shook his head no, Ulrich grabbed his hands and examined them. "What happened? You were practicing the levitation charm!" The prefect looked to Professor Littner in honest confusion. "I mean, it's happened before, I know that, but seriously, how?"
