Mavis wasn't going to lie. It still felt strange being here. Of course, after going home for Hanukkah, it might have something to do with having to convince her father and uncles that really, she was fine, and really, everyone (not everyone, but it wouldn't have helped her case had she mentioned them) had been nice, and really, no one had tried to set her on fire or anything so she didn't need to return home instead of going to school for second term.
Though if she was completely honest, she might as well have been home right now. She would have been just as bored. Currently, she was sitting in the common room, trying to concentrate on her homework. It wasn't going well. No matter what she did, she couldn't seem to transform the stick in front of her into a quill.
Upset, she fell back into her seat, letting out a great 'huff!'
