The best way to describe Hans' personality is a mirror. He mirrors and copies the personality of the ones around him, making himself seem more trustworthy to them. He adapts and does whatever he must to make others comfortable, so that they let down their walls and let him in. Hans is willing to keep up these intricate facades for indefinate lengths of time in order to get what he wants. Charismatic and charming, he's a masterful manipulator. Exceedingly arrogant, Hans' is more than happy to brag about his plans to those who can no longer do anything to stop him. He is also incredibly intelligent and a skilled liar. He's a quick-thinker, resourceful, and diligent.
The youngest of thirteen siblings, Hans' birth wasn't exactly amazing. No matter what he did, one of his brothers would have done it before him. His early years weren't bad, in truth; knowing his mother could have no more children, Hans' father showered attention on his youngest son, much to his elder sons' chagrin. However, when Hans was still young, his father passed away; leaving Hans with his brothers and their mother Gerda. Gerda, a vain and materialistic woman, immediately uprooted the family from Denmark, setting up a home in France. With his attentive father gone, his brothers teased him mercilessly, pretending for years that he was literally invisible, and once convincing him that he was actually a troll they had adopted. His mother was too distant to mind, immersing herself in the glamourous life of a Parisian socialite. Due to this, Hans strives for recognition, and will do anything he can to gain it. Hans was eager to begin school. Of course, Beauxbatons was hardly a walk in the park. Starting school is hard enough when it's in your own language. By adapting and changing depending on who he talks to, Hans became a favorite of his teachers and well-liked by his fellow students. However, he still lives in his brothers' shadows, as they've already brought the attention of France to themselves. Hans is looking forward to spending time in Britain, where he might be able to make a mark where his brothers couldn't possibly have been there first.
Hans is his proper names in the movie. His middle name, Benedict, is a reference to the American Revolutionary War Traitor Benedict Arnold. Considering that our Anna is a Hogwarts student, it made sense to make him a Beauxbatons so he could be a forgeigner. His personality as a mirror is completely accurate, and is a reference to the mirror from The Snow Queen, the original inspiration for Frozen. He is listed as having twelve sibling in the movie, all of whom are brothers for some reason. Hans is popular with his teachers and fellow students as a reference to how he makes everyone like and respect him in the movie, even the Duke of Weseltown, whom he obviously finds irritating. His mother, Gerda, is the name of the girl from the original Snow Queen story. It is hinted that the Southern Isles are actually Denmark.
Your application has been deemed pending. This means there may have been some sort of error present. Please correct any errors and bump this thread to have a staff member look over it again. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The Face Claim is different from what's listed this has been amended since the writing of this post, and the pictures used in the app need to be 200x300 exactly. If you need help with graphics feel free to PM me. In addition I would like to see a little more detail put into the personality and history. It just doesn't feel like a complete idea of a character.
The pictures are still the wrong size, and it's been suggested that I ask for specific things that I would like more detail about. I suggest looking at other apps for ideas of things you could talk about. Perhaps what his favorite subjects are in school, maybe specific memories of when he felt like he was in the shadows of his older brothers.
You have a unique opportunity here in that we only got a vague background of the character, and we really don't know what was and wasn't true of what he said. So there are lots of things that could be elaborated on here. Talk about his arrival to Beauxbatons, and whatever struggles he may have had with making friends - or a lack of struggles.
Welcome to Amortentia! Your application has been accepted, and you're free to start roleplaying with our other members. Don't forget your claims.
It's better, thanks for taking the time to get it just right :3 Just PM me when you get the images up this week so I know it's done.
